Special Event
The 2012 Industry Studies Association Conference offers an opportunity to experience one of industry's great historical sites - the Carrie Furnace. Having stood for more than 100 years, the Carrie Furnace is a symbol of Pittsburgh at the height of its steel empire. A tour to this site will be offered on June 1st, the last day of the 2012 Conference. More information regarding how to reserve your place for this tour will be posted soon. For additional information about the Carrie Furnace site, please visit this link.
The Industry Studies Association would like to thank the Rivers of Steel Heritage Corporation for allowing us to bring you this opportunity.
The Carrie Furnace

Furnaces #6 and #7 are the last remaining structures of the Carrie Furnace site. In 2006, they were designated a National Historic Landmark.
