Analysis of industry networks can help us understand the overall patterns of strategic alliance activity in an industry, thereby throwing light on some of the industry-level drivers of the phenomenon. As part of a larger study exploring competitiveness in the global steel industry, this chapter analyzes and interprets the pattern of worldwide strategic alliance activity among steel industry firms.
